Occupational Therapist
Neurodevelopmental Assessments

This is an exciting and highly valuable role within a busy service, providing crucial diagnostic assessments to families. The role involves conducting comprehensive assessments for individuals suspected of having Autism using established diagnostic tools.

Currently, assessments are undertaken to meet the demand on the private side of our clinic. The clinician will be responsible for writing detailed and professional assessment reports, providing recommendations, and suggesting interventions. Depending on experience, there may also be opportunities to supervise and support junior staff members.

Qualifications:

  • BSc in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent CORU-registered Occupational Therapy qualification.
  • Must be eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland.
  • Experience in conducting diagnostic neurodevelopmental/specialist developmental assessments with children.
  • Current CORU registration.
  • Experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and appropriate assessment tools for Autism and learning disabilities.
  • ADOS-2/ADI-R trained.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in report writing and record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments in line with best practice guidelines.
  • Lead and manage assessments, coordinating with other team members (e.g., Assistant Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists) as necessary.
  • Provide detailed post-assessment reports.
  • Offer ongoing support to clients and their families.
  • Efficiently manage your caseload.
